-2000 Victares of the Lonely Lake defeats Hiera Tavakhan in single combat, bringing the Age of the Mau Kaliate to an end and ushering in the Age of Man.
-1300 A little ice age sets in and lowered sea levels open new lands for exploration.
-1000 As temperatures continue to fall, the area which now forms the Kingdom of Arden is settled.
0 Founding of the Ruyami Empire.
300 Trading ships from the Kherada Dynasty encounter the Ruyami Empire. The monotheistic Ruyami take offense at Kherada polytheism and launch the First Kherada Crusade.
320 Public support for the ongoing Kherada Crusades wanes and, when Emperor Nakale calls for an army to launch the Sixth Crusade, it leads to open revolt. The Empire survives. The Emperor does not.
335 Kherada traders found the port of Djazama.
347 Archon’s Headland fortified to protect river trade near Djazama.
410 The Emperor Nomosu is drawn into a gruesome blood cult. When this is discovered, the public demand not only his death, but also the establishment of new laws strictly limiting Imperial powers.
490 Ruyami Empire goes into decline.
510 Invading monsters strike against the weakened Ruyami from all sides, dooming the Empire.
600 Great earthquakes devastate the world.
610 Awakened by the quakes, the great dragon Hispion ravages the settlements south of Brassport. Pleas for help go out to any who might assist in dealing with the dragon and a company of Kherada Flame Knights, templars of Al-Rakh, respond. Afterward, they establish Axdale Temple on the site of their camp.
680 The Anjai Confederation recovers from the recent disasters and establishes dominance in former Ruyami territories.
683 Anjai Confederation claims Djazama and renames it Brassport.
687 Sea-Lord Alcott sinks. Lighthouse and fortifications at Alcott’s Grave built.
740 The wizard-prodigy Drakov speaks out against the Anjai court and they respond by sending an assassin, Calluta Treewing, to assassinate him. Calluta falls in love with Drakov and the two disappear into the wilderness.
800 In the turmoil of a conflicted succession, Grand Duke Amath Wildsong of Ardenkeep successfully breaks free from the Anjai Confederaion and declares himself the first King of Arden.
840 The remnants of the Ruyami religion fade away, and are replaced with the variant of Kherada religion which remains dominant in Arden today.
940 Improved techniques for the production of ocean-faring ships open up new markets for Brassport-based trade.
1040 Icebreakers are sent north to explore beyond the glaciers, but find little of value.
1048 Orc activity increases sharply throughout Arden.
1050 The Anjai Confederation invades Arden in an attempt to recapture Ardenkeep. Their forces are not sufficient to deal with orcish harassment and they make little progress beyond establishing an occupation zone near the border.
1054 Ratmen become the scourge of the high seas after emerging from their sewers and capturing ships in several port cities.
1060 The Kingdom of Arden and the Kherada Dynasty form a naval alliance to combat piracy by the ratmen.
1067 Princess Menle of Arden begins traveling throughout her father’s kingdom, throwing raucous, drunken parties in every town, drawing scorn and criticism from the nobles of Arden. Those who attend her parties attack her even more viciously.
1071 Taking advantage of the internal problems caused by Princess Menle’s antics, the Anjai Confederation renews its attack on Arden, this time targeting Eastmere‘s mithril production and Brassport’s shipping in an attempt to destroy Ardenkeep financially. Their main force nearly reaches Eastmere when the priests at Sahin‘s temple in Osgal’s Mill, in a final act of desperation, call out to their goddess for aid and are seemingly answered when an earthquake opens a great chasm north of the village and swallows the majority of the Anjai forces. The chasm becomes known as Sahin’s Scar. The Anjai survivors return home and sue for peace. As part of the peace settlement, Koria Oldoak, daughter of one of the Anjai royal houses, is married to Duke Keenan Granitefist of Brassport. She is known thereafter as Duchess Eloisa the Grieving.
1072 Overland trade routes between Arden and Anjai are repoened. Eastmere prospers greatly.
1084 Count Telemord of Eastmere sponsors renewed efforts to explore distant ruins of the Ruyami Empire.
1094 / AS 1 The Silence falls.
